Riverbend Schooling Dressage October 13, 2007
|

Ally Merritt riding her appaloosa gelding Justa Splash of Attutitude,
"Jake"
took a first in Intro A with a score of 63.5
and a first in Training 1 with a score of 58.3. |

Elizabeth Kosa riding her new Hanovarian
gelding Feuerfliege, "Achilles" had a lovely Training 2 test
taking the blue with a score of 58.6. |
|

Furman IDA team's Melissa Wilson rode Bentley
through his first two Training tests - and his second time away
from the barn - to a fourth and a fifth. Every time
Bentley enters the ring he gets comments of "Lovely horse."
A big thank you to Ria Thress who trusts us with her Bentley's
care. |

And for anyone who has watched a moment of Maggy's work with
Norman - the personal Bramblewood blue goes to both of these
amazing creatures. It is hard to write in a paragraph the
things that this horse has taught us about the world, the trauma
of the race track, and our spirits. To catch him with his
eyes drooped, relaxed away from home is worth more than the
highest score of the day. We love you both with all our
hearts. |

Foothills Riding Club - Schooling Dressage
FENCE July 21, 2007
Congratulations Rachel Lecture and Kandyman on their First 1 score
of 61% and first place - and their First 2 score of 63% and second
place!
Harmon Hopefuls June 30, 2007
Duchess, Norman and Baymare had a great bed and
breakfast weekend in Tryon. Sasha finally got her girl back in the
show ring and we were all happy to cheer her on from the sidelines for
two fifths and a sixth out of eleven competitors in the Beginner Hunter
division. Norman and Baymare went unjudged and got loads of
practice. It was great seeing old friends. We are eternally
grateful to Noreen and all the
volunteers who go out of their way to create an incredible schooling
experience for all competitors - their work to update historic Harmon
Field is a an example for everyone giving back to the sport.

Congratulations Rachel and Kandyman!

Equitation. |
SCDCTA Show at Riverbend May 2007
|
Six horses (seven counting Kandyman, but we share him
with Riverbend and he has his own car) traveled out for a day of
schooling, feedback and miles. We are so proud of everyone - many
of the horses had never been to a show of any sort and the young ones
settled into their work like old pros. As always, we thank Jill
and Tricia at Riverbend for all their hard work and for bearing with our
last minute entries and late night shipping. |

April and Matilda resting |
 |
 |
|
April Cox put more miles on the Bramblewood
baby, Matilda (she's never been that white!) |
The Kosa's Isabella was a wonder with no more
than five minutes for warm up. |
 |
 |
| Maggy Welborn's Norman had his first experience
at a show and realized there was life beyond the race track. |
Rachel Lecture and Kandyman aced their
combined test and rode their hearts out at First Level. |
 |
 |
|
Baymare - finally a show without a bucking
salute! |
And Matilda, exhausted after a long day,
mustered the energy for canter and scored 60.5 at her first
Training test. |

Virginia Intermont Spring Show
Congratulations to the Furman IDA team for winning the inaugural
Sportsmanship award for the season
and to Emily Hunter for taking a fifth place in Intro!

Congratulations Furman IDA Team!
Dana Weidenfeller left the judge speechless with a 70.6% in Upper Training level
at the Virginia Tech show on February 17th. Dana was the high point rider
of the show, took a blue in her division, and the team walked away with sixth
place. Not bad for our first year!
