| I started riding horses at Grove Station Farms when I
was eleven. I found out that I would start riding
horses when my instructor called and left a message, and of
course I just happened to hear it. I was so excited
and couldn't wait to start. My first lesson was on a big
Appaloosa called Moe. He was the comedian of the barn!
I knew that from then on, the rest of my life would be
nothing but horses! My first show was on a big
Clydesdale name Dreamer. I was really nervous before
the show, but as soon as I sat in the saddle I knew
everything was going to be great. I placed first in
flat and fourth in jumping.
As time went on, I advanced and soon began looking for a
more advanced barn. The day after I got out of school
in May 2007, my parents brought me to Bramblewood. I
soon started taking lessons, helping, making great friends
(both people and horses!) I soon decided that
Bramblewood was the right barn for me.
On October 28, 2007, I rode in my last show at Grove
Station and placed third in the flat and two firsts in
jumping. I was riding my favorite horse at the show.
I went to a Pony Club meeting and switched over to
Bramblewood.
I am part of Bramblewood's Pony Club Riding Center, and I
can't wait until the rating in April. The shows will
also be starting soon and I can't wait to see what if feels
like showing in a ring other than the barn's ring, because
at Grove they always held shows at their barn, which means
I've never trailered a horse anywhere.
I could not have gotten this far without Kim and Mihran's
help though! We should always thank them after lessons
for taking their time to show us something about what we all
love . . . Horses! We should also thank the horse for
working hard and letting us ride them. We should give
them "the respect due to a partner" as the Pony Club pledge
states.
I can't wait to see what will happen this year and the
years to come. Thank you so much Kim and Mihran! |
